More than 100 Attend Banquet
Our annual fundraiser banquet was a great evening, with over one hundred guests attending. With glorious hymns being played on the piano, festive decorations, and beautiful baskets to purchase, it was a memorable evening for the CEF family.
While enjoying lasagna dinner catered by Olive Garden, friends old and new kept the room buzzing. Friendly bidding on the baskets and winning raffle prizes kept the crowd engaged.
The highlight of the evening was hearing the guest speaker, Mr. Bob Vernon, eloquently address how vital biblical truth is in our lives. He noted the Bible is essential to knowing how to live a truly successful and God honoring life. He challenged everyone to invest in
the lives of young boys and girls; giving them the opportunity to hear of God’s love. Mr. Vernon was saved at a Good News Club as a child, and had a love for the ministry of CEF. He and his wife Esther continue to support a CEF missionary in the Los Angeles neighborhood where he grew up.
It was a joy to hear how God has blessed the West Orange County CEF Chapter this past year. The serious financial need and vital need for people to pray for the ministry were also shared. The response was a blessing. A number of guests committed to pray for our ministry. Over $10,700 was donated that evening and in the subsequent weeks.
Many thanks to the helpers that made the evening so enjoyable: Janet Carlson for the beautiful baskets she donated; Don and Alice Kuder for gathering raffle items and set up; Jill Casey for designing the program; Pat Laurell treasurer duties; Brenda Corn decorations; Peggy Hill playing the piano; Natalie Rice the raffle ticket queen; Jack Sinanian for raffle ticket sales; Stacy Corn and Mary in kitchen; Leann and Emile Patterson, and Kate and Cameron Wegener serving. Also, thanks to all who donated raffle items.
We give God all the glory for the blessing of allowing us to share the Good News through Child Evangelism Fellowship!
